The church in the picture is not the Star of the Sea! This church is Holy Family, some two miles away at Bakau.
Sorry they did not make you welcome. We have happily visited this church on many occasions.

I worshipped there last Sunday (19 Nov) albeit a joint mass at 10.00 for a local celebration.
The sound system is still not perfect but is a lot better than it must have been when your Mystery Worshipper attended.
